How to play

How a painting comes together.

A painting lies in front of you, cut into rectangles of different heights. You arrange them until everything is back in its place. Every connection brings colour into the picture.

Connect instead of search

You swap and move strips of the picture. As soon as two pieces sit correctly side by side, they connect and move together as a group from then on. Bit by bit, the picture becomes calmer.

If you like, you can separate groups again in the free studio.

Colour as a reward

Every new connection washes colour into the sketch. After your last move the original appears, and the work introduces itself with title, year and collection.

Look closer and learn more

Once you have finished, you can view the picture full screen and zoom in. A reading panel tells you more about the work and its era.

No timer, no rush

There is no clock and there are no lives. If you get stuck, a small question mark shows you a sensible next move. Your progress is saved separately for each level.
